At Sancell we want to make life as easy as possible so with every pool cover sold includes a full set of installation instructions for the pool covers and rollers.
We also have a full instructional DVD which aims to set out the step by step process.
We also have expert installers Australia wide who can take the hassle out of installing your cover and roller.
Sancell’s premium grade pool cover material is manufactured to suit the harsh Australian climate and if cared for in the correct manner will not shrink. However:
• There is a small amount of settlement in the material which accounts for less than 1% of the length of a pool cover. However each Sancell Pool Cover accounts for this by adding additional material on the length and the width to account for this. |
 |
• The only way a pool cover can actual shrink is due to significant overheating commonly caused by leaving out in direct sunlight when cover is folded or rolled up.
Always make sure your cover is placed in total shade if it is simply folded or if on a roller make sure the UV protectant cover is on at all times.
This can be attributed to the following reasons:
•
The pool cover has not been correctly cut to shape.
The upturn on pools should be approximately 100mm. Please see our installation instructions for appropriate measurements.
• There has been significant rain fall and the cover edge sits above the pool level. Once again the cover needs to sit 100mm up the wall of the pool. If the pool is overfull then appropriately remove and store the water or remove cover to allow for evaporation to suitable level.
• Where the pool has negative edging Sancell’s lead lining is the perfect solution of a pool that has negative edging. It keeps the cover from blowing off your pool whilst keeps the edging flat around your pool giving your pool a professional finish.
This should only happen when the pool cover (given it has been used and stored correctly) is at the end of its lifecycle.
This happens when the anti oxidants that are originally blended in with the resins during production are exhausted. If for any reason this happens prematurely Sancell will replace the cover under Warranty. As long as the correct provisions are taken into consideration you should get the full term of your warranty
from your Sancell Pool Cover.
When a Sancell Pool Cover is first placed on the pool there may be initial creasing and wrinkles across the surface.
This will flatten out with the warmth from the sun over a short period of time. Low Density Polyethelne or LDPE has a memory so this is common in every case.
Even after you fold or roll up your cover when you are using your pool will retain a shape if kept for a period of time.
Purchasing a roller can help to reduce the lines and wrinkles on your cover. A roller ensures the cover is flat and stored in the correct way.
If over time you accidently nick or tear your cover in a small area there is a simple solution. A simple patch – much like the ones you would put on a tarp or waterproofed surface – can be purchased from any hardware store. This does not effect the warranty of your cover as it is purely an aesthetic that can be remedied easily. Please call us if you have any further queries about this.
Once again this could be due to having in incorrectly installed pool cover. Particularily with odd shaped pools (being other than rectangular) there is always some movement around the edges and this can be a problem when trying to keep leaves and debris out of the pool.

Firstly simply make sure; The upturn on pools should be approximately 100mm. Please see our installation instructions for appropriate measurements.
To remove dirt and build up on the cover surface to prevent build up and overflow into your pool simple use a soft brush to scoop up the excess leaves or if appropriate in your area, use a hose to push it towards the skimmer box.
Pool covers themselves do assist to warm the pool with the use of solar energy. However often if a pool is not maintained in the proper way excess levels of algae may grow on the surface of the cover.
This can be attributed to the following reasons:
• Low chlorine levels • Increased water temperature • Phosphates
Speak to your local pool shop about how to achieve the correct levels with your pool to stop algae growth. |
